Sutapa Sikdar recently took to her social media handle to share a note recalling how late actor Irrfan Khan never used to remember anyone’s birthday.
After delivering a heartwarming speech at the 51st International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Irrfan Khan’s wife Sutapa Sikar has now taken to her social media handle to share an emotional note recalling how the late actor never used to remember anyone’s birthday. She often shares interesting posts related to Irrfan. In 2020, the Hindi Medium actor passed away in Mumbai after being diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumour, a rare form of cancer. Yesterday, at IFFI, Sutapa remembered her late husband and said, “Irrfan”s finish line came too soon, but he played well. We’re proud of you, Irrfan.”
Now today, she took to her Facebook page and shared a note wherein she has mentioned how Irrfan used to get embarrassed for not remembering birthdays. Her note read as, “You could never remember birthdays..offlate you were kind of embarrassed of that.. This was about this world and its ways… Do you remember today in the world with some other energies.. How is it up there?you always wondered when you were in this world always about the other world ..do you still forget birthdays?attaching a photo when you forgot again. Sending you tightest hug.”

Meanwhile, to pay tribute to Irrfan Khan’s legacy, IFFI screened Irrfan Khan’s film Paan Singh Tomar on January 22, 2021. The screening was attended by Sutapa Sikdar and their elder son Babil.
During Sutapa’s speech, she said, “I remember Irrfan had dreams in his eyes. It’s a special moment because it’s an honour and privilege to be given a tribute. I’m happy to be here, this is the first time I’ve come out of the home. But one needs closures to walk ahead, and IFFI is a closure. IFFI couldn’t have chosen a better film, because this film talks about a race.”
