Sarah Trott gives an update on her father’s illness after leaving The Bachelor

Sarah Trott has given an update on her father who has been battling ALS.

The 24-year-old, who exited The Bachelor during week three to be with her dad, gave an update on TikTok on Monday.

‘Hi guys! Sharing a quick update. For the first time in a while my dad was up for a walk around the neighborhood lake.

Health update: Sarah Trott has given an update about her father who is battling ALS after she exited The Bachelor this week

‘He doesn’t get a chance to get out of the house often because it’s such a difficult process now — getting dressed, getting strapped safely into our wheelchair van, you know how it goes … Things that once were so easy like putting on shorts, sunscreen, and hopping in the car for an adventure are much more difficult now.’

Sarah was open about her father’s illness on the ABC show and told Bachelor Matt James about his health battle in the premiere episode earlier this month.

When she was introduced on the show she revealed, ‘I was 19 when we got that diagnosis and it was completely shocking.

‘Like, how do you wrap your head around that, your dad has a terminal illness? Fortunately, he’s still alive and he’s still in good spirits.’

Sarah quit The Bachelor in tears on Monday’s episode amid worries about her sick father and issues getting along with the other women on the show.

The other women at Nemacolin Resort began to lose patience with Sarah, a broadcast journalist from San Diego, after she kept stealing time with Matt, 29.

She repeatedly needed Matt to reassure her that their connection was real, even to the point of interrupting his group date and hiding in her room until he found her.

Her behavior caused some of the women to call Sarah ‘toxic,’ ‘calculated’ and ‘manipulative.’

Sarah tried to make amends, and Serena Chew, 24, a flight attendant from San Francisco, snapped, ‘You burned all the bridges.’

‘I hope that your connection with Matt is really strong right now, because the rest of your living situation here is going to be horrible,’ said Kit Keenan, 21, a socialite from New York City.

The only person to support her was Katie Thurston, 29, a bank marketing manager from Renton, Washington, who claimed after listening to them, ‘I did not like that at all.’

Sarah confided in Katie, ‘I really believe in the feelings I have for him, but I’m not cut out for this. I just can’t give this my all. All my worst insecurities are coming out. I really have to put my well-being first, and I’m not in a good headspace here,

‘And I haven’t really opened up to you about the situation with my dad, but he has a terminal illness, and it’s not like, years or months, it’s like, weeks. So, it’s really weighing on my heart too — time away from him. And I thought I was ready for this, but I have to be true to myself.’

Attacked: Sarah told Matt she was leaving, and explained, 'I just felt so attacked by so many of the women in the house,' she said. 'Some of the women in there are really cruel and malicious'

Bummed: Matt emphasized again that he didn't want to lose her but said, 'When you're ready, some guy is gonna be extremely lucky, and I'm bummed that it's not me'

He walked her to her car as she cried, saying, ‘That’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done.’

The Bachelor returns next week on ABC.

Mistake: Sarah left anyway, opining at the end that it was 'the hardest thing' she'd ever done, and wondering as she drove away in her car if perhaps she had made a mistake
