Kemba Walker available to play against Knicks

Kemba Walker is set to return to the floor against New York.

Boston Celtics All-Star guard Kemba Walker is listed as available to play for the first time this season and will start against the New York Knicks (1 ET, NBA TV), the team announced on Sunday.

Walker hasn’t played this season after receiving a stem cell injection in his left knee prior to the start of training camp last month.

He will be on a minutes restriction of about 20, according to coach Brad Stevens.

He’s been on a 12-week strengthening program since the early October procedure. Walker injured his knee prior to the resumption of last season in the Florida bubble, but returned to play during the playoffs.

Walker joins a Celtics team that leads the Eastern Conference with a record of 8-3. They are going for their 6th straight win on Sunday.

Information from the Associated Press was used in this report.
