Netflix has released the official trailer for Fate: The Winx Saga, which puts a rather adult spin on the popular Winx Club animated series.
The trailer focuses on Bloom, a fairy who attends the magical boarding school known as Alfea. Bloom and other Alfea students learn to master their elemental abilities while facing the threat of the Burned Ones. “Magic lives in the very fabric of nature,” one of Bloom’s teachers tells her. “Fairy magic is linked to emotion… the stronger the emotion, the stronger the magic.”
Created by Iginio Straffi, Winx Club first premiered in Italy from 2004-2009. The original series, as well as a 2011 revival series, also debuted on Nickelodeon and gathered smash ratings as well as a devoted fanbase.
Fate: The Winx Saga follows the coming-of-age journey of five fairies attending Alfea, a magical boarding school in the Otherworld where they must learn to master their powers while navigating love, rivalries, and the monsters that threaten their very existence.
