According to the Lancet study, nearly 63% of patients report suffering from fatigue, weakness, muscle pain for nearly six months after the first symptoms start to show up.

Fatigue, which can be brought on by a host of symptoms-including high fever, gastrointestinal infection and the stress of infection itself can also make it harder for a person to bounce back into normalcy.
